WebOct 15, 2005 · On the VW, black is NEVER EVER EVER a ground. Hook up your electronics with the advice that black is ground on VW wiring and expect to replace whatever you hooked up. FYI, black is terminal 15 power. This is key-on switched positive power. NOT ground. Hope that saves someone from ruining expensive goodies.
